About Portfolio

   I think learning and teaching are like the journey of traveling. Every individual has their own purpose of traveling and preferred traveling style. Likewise, every learner has their own learning styles with different learning goals. In addition, on the way to their destination, travelers can face a variety of unexpected situations, which sometimes make them change their initial itinerary. In the same way, learners can face unexpected difficulties in the classroom and the role of teachers is to help the learners overcome those difficulties and reach their initial goals. That is, the main goal of a teacher is to provide the learners with appropriate feedback for them to reach their destination. Therefore, I will focus on the role of a teacher as a facilitator through student-centered task based lesson plans and action research on the effect of proper teachers’ feedback.  

 

  This portfolio will show my progress in the field of teaching as well as my achievement in MA TESOL at Sookmyung Women’s University. This will include three main sections.

  • The first section will introduce my personal and professional history through resume, teaching philosophy and education.

  • The second section will show what I have learned through MA TESOL program at Sookmyung Women's University. It will contain the course descriptions I have taken for two years.

  • The last section will demonstrate my performance in English in Action Writing, where I put my academic knowledge into practice. This section will include corresponding reflections along with lesson plans, class materials(PPT), and action research.
